Every year, when Spring weather rolls around, I start to lose all interest in anything but reading. Ever since the first bout of warm weather this year, all I’ve wanted to do with my free time is sit out on my deck and read. Iced tea, a new rocking chair, and some relaxing music are all bonuses in this pursuit to devour as many books as possible.
This is aided by the fact that I am on a roll with good books. Having experienced a drought of excellent reading material for a while, I was overjoyed to have fantastic books to read. This bounty of good reading began with The Help by Kathryn Stockett, and continued with Heartburn by Nora Ephron, Girl in Translation by Jean Kwok and The Brightest Star in the Sky by Marian Keyes.
Now this isn’t a problem except for the fact that I have 4 episodes of Chuck languishing on the TiVo waiting to be watched. There is no good reason for this because I absolutely LOVE Chuck. New Glee episodes start again soon as well. I need to get in gear to watch all of this fabulous TV, but who wants to do that when I could be outside?
Do you have seasonal reading patterns like this or am I just crazy? Do you ever not feel like watching your recorded TV, even when you love the shows waiting to be watched?
