Reading Round Up

Kate Jacobs – Knit Two – I was glad to revisit the characters from the Friday Night Knitting Club.  They were a bit annoying this time around because they were all being very selfish.  Also, I didn’t feel like much happened.  I did enjoy it, but I was a little disappointed.

Sandor Marai – Esther’s Inheritance – I found this on a “Best of 2008” list and decided to try it.  It was OK.  The protagonist does not feel like she can change her fate so you know the book will not end the way you want it to even though she can make a decision that will make her (and others) happier.  It was written well but still just OK.

Anna Godbersen – Envy – Of course I adored the third installment in The Luxe series.  There were many twists and turns, and I enjoyed reading about their vacation to Palm Springs.  I love this time period (Gilded Age), and Godbersen seems to capture my favorite things from the period in her books.  I can’t believe there is only one more book coming out in this series – Splendor.  I will be so sad when it comes out, and I’m done reading it.  This series is the most satisfying fluff I’ve read in a long time.
