I love The Beatles, but the more I hear about them these days, the less I like them as people. They've totally missed the boat with downloadable music, and Ringo has forgotten how he got to where he is – the fans.

He's old and cranky. Poor fellow…
Well he's been at it for more than 40 years, so maybe there's some excuse.Cranky, yeah, a little.
I can understand being cranky after so long, but he could have just slowed down on answering fan mail rather than telling fans that he wants them out of his life. I guess all this whining from the rich and famous bugs me when so many are suffering at the moment. Shouldn't he be glad that his music provides a "happy place" for people in these hard times?
Wait… Ringo gets fan mail?Oooooh… that was mean. =( Oh well, he deserved it a little.
What an asshole.
He's been doing it for 40 years – ost of the people asking would probably not even have been born to be a fan at that time. He is getting old, let the man rest.
My problem is more with his tone ("getting fans out of my life") than the fact that he doesn't want to keep signing things. I don't think any star has to autograph things for fans. Maybe he should start refusing his royalty checks if he's tired of the consequences of success.
