Weird dream.

I had a dream that I entered a garden gnome look alike contest with my (late) grandfather.  He won.

Anyone have a dream book?  What the hell does that mean??

  1. "To dream of meeting your grandparents and conversing with them, you will meet with difficulties that will be hard to surmount; but by following good advice, you will overcome many barriers." (Grandfather)"To see statues in dreams, signifies estrangement from a loved one, Lack of energy will cause disappointment in realizing wishes." (Statues)"A garden sometimes indicates a need to bring more beauty into your life, Tt may be a metaphor for personal or spiritual growth, or a desire to cultivate a new talent or move to a higher realm of awareness." (Garden)" The appearance of the dead in a dream typically signifies a warning of some kind. To see a the dead living and happy represents a bad influence that may be affecting your life." (Dead) I can give you more if you tell more, like what you were both wearing including shoes and hats, what were your surroundings, any noises and sounds, who else was there, and your general mood at the results of the contest. Also list kinds of trees and flowers and the weather.

  2. lightchaser – I thought it was an awesome dream too! I was really disoriented when I woke up, but chuckled after a shower and some caffeine.
renee – Thanks for the info! It's hard to be more specific because it was one of those quick dreams right before I woke up. We were in a field somewhere, and then I found out that he won the gnome contest. I gave him a hug, and then I woke up. I don't think there were any gnomes in the dream. They were just talked about in the contest.

  3. "To see green fields,or ripe with corn or grain, denotes great abundance and happiness to all classes." (field)"To embrace relatives, signifies their sickness and unhappiness…If the dreams take place under auspicious conditions, the reverse may be expected." (hug) Overall, I would say the conditions were auspicious. I think the possible bad portents in the brief dream were far outweighed by the positive ones. I, myself see my recently deceased dad about once a month, and I tend to take the individual dreams at face value as he is usually telling me something specific and mundane. I'm certain the classical interpretation would have it be something far more esoteric, but I prefer to just listen to his words or attitude. Your dream was interesting to interpret. Feel free to share anytime.

  4. Thanks for looking those up for me. I think it's really interesting to see what dreams are supposed to mean, but I don't really believe interpretations (even when they're good). I rarely see the deceased in my dreams. I probably see either my grandfather or grandmother about once a year, and the dreams always make me smile. After all, it is the only way I'll ever see them again, unless there really is an afterlife. But that's a whole other can o' worms, eh?
