Cringeworthy crafts.

I know these are fairly popular, but all I can think is, "Where did the pages go?!"  I can't even stand a dog-eared book, much less a book that has been gored and made into a purse!  One of my childhood favorites, no less.

  1. Have you seen/read Girl Sleuth? As with most reading, I really only have a summary from my beloved Bootsie, but it was interesting to hear how the book franchise was managed.

  2. Wow. I think recycling is great but there's something slightly off-putting about seeing a book used like that. On the other hand, if you could make reading cool by showing off your fave read…I don't know. It looks painful to me.

  3. Yeah, it looks very painful. I can't imagine a book lover that would enjoy ripping the pages out of a book in order to make a purse. I'd love to see the reactions of librarians if I took something like this into my internship.
